This is precisely the reason I’ve refrained from posting photos of him. Our culture has an insatiable bloodlust. If I’m not mistaken, my good friend akagoldfish wrote a lot about this culture of violence and its implications following the assassination of Bin Laden.

Thanks Matt for this sentiment about the repetitive use of violent images in the media without regard. Thanks so much. I’m cognizant of the fact that violence is a reality of life and people should realize that such things exist, but when it’s overused to this extent just for people’s fleeting interest, it’s just depraved. I’ve gotten into so many arguments about this…
